Merry Christmas indeed! Mahogany Gliders have returned to Mungarru Lodge Sanctuary

Low light and way up high but definitely a male Mahogany Glider – Mungarru Lodge Sanctuary Dec 20 2012

It’s midnight Dec 20th 2012.

It has been almost 18months since we have seen a mahogany glider on the sanctuary and we have missed their presence in our forest.

This week the bloodwoods have burst into bloom for the first time since cyclone Yasi hit in Feb 2011 and guess who is back in the treetops?

It was so wonderful to see a little face looking back at me – they are back or at least one very healthy looking male mahogany glider – feeding in the blossom with 2 spectacled flying fox.

What a wonderful Christmas present?

Who could ask for more…..
